We collect minimal data, only with your consent, and never sell it.

What we collect

Tallfind uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand anonymous, aggregate site usage — which pages are viewed, which filters are applied, which stores get clicked. This helps us spot broken links, figure out what to add to the directory, and improve the site.

Analytics only run after you click "Accept" on the consent banner you see on first visit. If you click "Reject" (or never respond), no analytics cookies are set and no events are sent.

When consent is granted, we may collect:

• Page URL visited and referrer
• Device / browser type
• Anonymous events: filter use, search query length (not the text), store clicks, sort changes
• A generalized geographic region (e.g. "United Kingdom") — never a precise location

We do not collect:

• Your name, email, or any account information (we don't have accounts)
• Your exact IP address (GA4 truncates / anonymizes it)
• Payment details — you pay merchants directly, never through Tallfind
• Advertising identifiers — we don't run display ads

Cookies

If you accept analytics, GA4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_<id>) containing a random anonymous ID used to group your visits. They expire after 2 years. If you reject, no GA cookies are set — we only store your consent choice itself in your browser's localStorage so we don't keep showing the banner.

Third-party services

• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous site analytics, consent-gated. See Google's privacy policy.
• Formspree — handles submissions from the "Submit a Store" and "Feedback" forms. Data you enter is delivered to us over email. See Formspree's privacy policy.
• GitHub Pages — hosts this site. Standard web server logs may be kept by GitHub per their policies.
• Google Fonts — serves the typefaces. Requests to Google's font CDN include your IP and user-agent at request time.

Outbound links to brand stores

When you click through to a brand store, the brand's site has its own privacy policy. Some of our outbound links are affiliate links that include a tracking parameter identifying Tallfind as the referrer — that lets us earn a commission, but it does not share your personal data. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to:

• Withdraw analytics consent at any time. Clear your browser's Tallfind localStorage and the consent banner will re-appear on next visit.
• Request a copy of any data we hold about you. Since we don't collect identifying information, we don't have any — but you're welcome to verify.
• Contact us via the feedback form with any privacy question.

Changes

If we materially change how data is collected, we'll update this page and re-prompt for consent if required.
